Daily excursion

FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER (during the other months organized excursions, also on request)
Excursion: Rich landscapes of the territory, between nature and the docile donkeys.
Meeting: at C.da Salamina, seat of the Association.
The daily excursion starts with the meeting at the headquarters of the Association “L’Aia che raglia” in C.da Salamina at 8:30 am.
Along the way the excursion winds through the old sheep-tracks and admiring the vast expanses of centuries-old olive trees and Mediterranean maquis.
In these immense expanses of green, uncontaminated nature it will be possible to collect and have a hint of what are the wild and wild herbs (fennel, rosemary, oregano, chicory, chamomile, etc. … etc..) used since ancient times to cure seasonal ailments, cooking typical local dishes, such as the famous ‘n’crapiot’ (broad beans and chicory), or for the preparation of distillates and rosolios at the end of a meal. During the crossing of these fields the first stop is scheduled, around 11:00 a.m., with a snack offered by the association to let people taste seasonal products such as new beans and peas, delicious homemade bread bruschettas with extra virgin olive oil from local farms.
Once rested, the group will resume the journey along the ancient remains of the Via Traiana, built in the second century AD by the Emperor Trajan, to reach, at about 12:00, the ‘Masseria Gianecchia’ dating back to ‘600. After the historical explanation, the group reaching a high hill of the Masseria will be able to stop for a long lunch break under the ‘big oak tree’, with animation to make known and rediscover ancient games ‘u sald pa cord’, ‘swing’. …u sciuc du fazzulett, etc…
The day trip will end at 17.30 / 18:00 with the return to the headquarters of the association.

The cost is 35 € per adult and 20 € for children (5 -10 years).

Please note that the minimum number to take part in the excursion is 15 participants, and that in case of rain or bad weather it will be postponed to another date or combined with an excursion of the same type.
